Your Lovable app shipped in a week. Making it survive real users is a different job.
Ballast Engenieering builds the backend, integrations and infrastructure that AI builders don't. We work behind agencies — your client stays yours.
You built and shipped fast. Then the questions started.
- Your database has no real access control, and every user can technically read every row.
- Stripe, CRM sync, transactional email and scheduled jobs don't fit inside the builder.
- Infra costs are climbing and nobody can explain which part is spending.
- The app slows down or breaks at a few hundred concurrent users.
- Your client is asking who owns the code, where the data lives, and what happens if you're not around.
None of this means the app was built wrong. It means it was built to be seen, not to be run.
Production Readiness Review
A senior engineer reviews your app and tells you exactly what breaks before it breaks.
What gets reviewed
- Architecture and data model
- Access control and tenant isolation
- Secrets, credentials and third-party keys
- Integrations: payments, email, background jobs, external APIs
- Infrastructure setup and monthly cost breakdown
- Load behaviour and known failure points
What you get
- A written report with every finding ranked by severity and by cost to fix
- A remediation plan you can hand to your own team, or to us
- A 30-minute call to walk through it
This is not a penetration test or a compliance audit. It's an engineering review by someone who builds these systems in production. If you need SOC 2 or a formal pentest, I'll tell you and point you elsewhere.
If you hire Ballast Engenieering for the implementation, the $2,000 is credited in full against that project.
After the review
Implementation is fixed scope, fixed price — backend, integrations, migration off the builder's limits, mobile apps. Quoted from the review, never hourly. Ongoing engineering is monthly, fixed monthly, cancel with 30 days' notice.
Infrastructure management, monitoring and alerting, automated backups with tested restores, security patching, cloud cost review, bug fixes.
Response within one business day, 8am–2pm COT (GMT-5).
Everything in Foundation, plus 20 hours of reserved development each month — new features, integrations, migrations.
Unused hours don't roll over; you're paying for reserved capacity, not a bucket.
Your client gets a system that keeps working. You get a technical partner who never talks to them unless you want us to.
Need more than what's included? Additional development hours are billed separately at $150/hr, on either plan.

Selected work
Multi-tenant compliance platform
Each corporate client enrolls its suppliers, the platform collects documentation through structured forms, and a supplier rating is published once the review is complete. Backend, frontend and infrastructure.
Field data capture system
Mobile app for offline field capture plus the backend that consolidates the data into report-ready output. Mobile, backend, frontend and infrastructure.
Logistics platform
Backend and infrastructure for an internal logistics system, integrated with a frontend originally built in Lovable.
Not sure if your app is ready for real users?
Find out in five days for $2,000 — credited back if we build the fix. We'll look at your app together and I'll tell you whether a review is worth it. If it isn't, I'll say so.
